Any plans to do anything with the Traxis program, Brett? (update spider id file, fix email issues, maybe some fancy new plug-ins?) Just wondering.....

Yes to most of the above. It is just a matter of finding the time Scott.

That's great. I understand the time issues. I've been using it for a little while now....It's a great program, but I had some ideas for improvements, that's all.

I'd love to hear more. The next release will be first and foremost a bug fix. The email option will be included. That one has been very difficult to write - I had to rework all of the display routines to "dehtml'ize" the reports. There is also a new 'ip watch list' where you can flag ip's (like spiders) from a disk file. And, I added a small option to display both domain name and ip address together. The biggest bug fix is a rework of the counter script.

Other than that, I am more than open to 'lightweight' feature suggestions at this point.

The first suggestion I had was to include a button next to the ip (like the arrows) that would add the ip to a particular list (like the watch list you mentioned). Particularly, I'm thinking it would add the ip to the spider list automatically. But it could be put in some other file as well, I suppose. Along that theme (and I know this is out there and not exactly minor) is a system of transferring that "collected" spider ip file to others (I'm sure the cloakers would love this one) with a comparitor script to toss out the "have 'ems" and add the "need 'ems". Just a thought there, you can probably expound much further on that one.....maybe a plug-in to traxis or a whole new program.
Also one (and only) feature I like about the tracking prog that comes with my hosting service is a sort of chronological record. I can follow a visitors path thru the site easily.

Example:

mango.arctic.net
[someothersitenotyours.com...]
07 Sep -- 18:53:26 -- 00:07 -- /
[yoursite.com...]
07 Sep -- 18:53:47 -- -- /page1.htm
[yoursite.com...]
07 Sep -- 18:54:05 -- -- /page2.htm
[yoursite.com...]
07 Sep -- 18:54:13 -- 00:01 -- /page3.htm
[yoursite.com...]
07 Sep -- 18:54:14 -- 00:18 -- /page4.htm

(note the stay times are calc'd for u)

You get the idea....

I know traxis can track internal referrals, but I'm not sure there's a way to display it like this. I don't know about others, but I find it extremely helpful.

I've got some other minor ideas, just can't remember them right now. I'll send them along as they come to me.

Thanks,

Scott
