Switched from mac to pc and have had for months now a file called con.php - which is a config file used in various php files.

I cannot download it or rename it anywhere on my hard drive or anyone elses win2000pro machine.

Why not??

Quite odd. I tried to rename a file to con.php and it told me "invalid filename, pick another". Curious if someone knows why.

"Do not use device names, such as aux, con, and prn, as filenames or directory names." - apparently in the windows api.

Yep, "con", "aux", etc. are very old and buried deep in the O.S. - just don't mess with them :-)
