Handling 'Email Notification' In A Forum

What is the best way to handle this?

Hello all

I am using a 'commercial forum' in a site which doesn't offer the facility of notifying visitors if they want to subscribe to a thread or post a reply - the same way that this fine Forum works!

Can anyone give me a steer on the best way, or indeed if it is possible, to add this kind of functionality?

Does it require Server Side list handling facilities, just some cool scripting or other issues to consider?

If you are running such a facility in a Forum the benefit of your experience would be very much appreciated.

It all depends on your software Mark. A email routine is going to have to link into the posting facility somehow. That's rather involved if you are not a full blown programmer fluent in the language the board is in.

Thought as much Brett!

Ever considered 'packaging' this Forum!!!!
(the nearest I will go to a 'commercial post' on this fantastic resource!)
