I don't know if this is the right area, or even the right Forum to post this question, but I hope someone can help.

I am getting Internet from a friend's apartment building across the street from me, using a NetGear WG111T. I'm trying to set up an FTP or Web Server, but I cannot get any incoming connections from anyone. Also cannot get incoming connection to do Remote Assistance in WinXP

Am pretty sure it's going to involve some sort of port redirect, but I'm not sure how in the world to go about doing that - I've tried several things already, including a DynDNS account, but so far, no success.

Neither I nor my friend have access to the router that the service is coming through, as it belongs to the owner of the apartment building, and he is clueless as to it's functions.

Any/all assistance will be greatly appreciated!

Thank You in advance.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, cchan.

You are indeed going to need to access the router's control interface in order to configure incoming connections allowances. Go to the manufacturer's web site for that router make and model and you should be able to find a user's manual online.
