Any reviews on a Dell laptops .... How is their performance in general?
And one thing i know that a centrine 1.7 GHz is almost equivalent to a pentium 4 3 GHZ .... But what is IntelŪ PentiumŪ M Processor 740 (Processor speed 1.73GHz) equivalent to in terms to Pentium 4 speed?
Because in Dell i am getting all IntelŪ PentiumŪ M Processor 740 so i am a bit sure about their actual speed.
Good luck!
My experience with Dell support had me yelling at the guy on the phone for, basically, being an idiot and espousing an idiotic company policy. It takes a lot to make me that angry. My experience with Thinkpad support was a pleasure.
The Thinkpad will cost more, but it's worth it.
From what I understand, most of the Thinkpad staff for Lenovo moved straight over from IBM, so while they are still in transition from a U.S. run company to a Chinese run company, it is looking smooth. I think the upper management are also former IBM employees.
Which IBM's are you talking about ;) you may have got lucky with one but I have just recently purchased 5, 3 went back - Screen went on one, motherboard on another and the third I recieved with problems and couldn't even boot it up to resolve them - these 3 went straight back. Please from my experience don't buy IBM unless you get lucky with one that dosen't break when used frequently. I am sat here on a IBM desktop though which has been spot on - but I would never ever buy a IBM laptop.
This is just my views though and no matter how much people suggest you never know till you boot the thing up and use it daily...
The guy before me upgraded to 80gb and 512mb of ram so although it only has a PIII, it's plenty fast for my web developtment stuff (html editors and light graphic work).
So yeah . . . I only have experience with this older thinkpad and give it two thumbs up!
