Unable to Connect to wireless network abroad.

In France, internal wireless card won't connect.

Hey guys,

So my laptop comes with an internal wireless card and I have no problem connecting to any wireless network in North America.

However in France, using France Telecom with a Livebox (their highspeed connection), it won't connect unless I use their USB wireless card.

Tech support says its because my wireless card (internal) is broken. I suspect it's not the case.

Any way to get around this?

Oh and I'm running Win XP.

It could be that they are using MAc filtering. Which means that they only allow their network cards to connect (although I'm not sure how feasable this is on a large scale)
