200,000 Android Devices Sold Per Day [us.cnn.com]
Google CEO Eric Schmidt said on Wednesday that Google believes that some 200,000 new Android devices are being sold each day, leading to significant revenue in the form of increased mobile search traffic.

"People are finally beginning to figure out how successful Android is," Schmidt said at the inaugural Techonomy conference here, pointing to recent studies showing the growth of the mobile operating system outpacing even the popular iPhone.

"The number was about 100,000 (a day) about two months ago," Schmidt said. "It looks like Android is not just phenomenal but incredibly phenomenal in its growth rate. God knows how long that will continue."

"I should also say that we love the success of the iPhone because the iPhone also uses Google's search and we get a chunk of that revenue when people search on the iPhone."

Um, wait a second here. Didn't Apple have a falling out with Google and decide to put Bing on their phones as of January? Did that not happen?

I love articles like this because the Android customer base is growing in leaps and bounds yet the Android deniers claim the platform is dead in the water and has no future, which in itself proves it has a future or they wouldn't waste time writing articles that state otherwise.

It's going to be a fun ride :)

That still doesn't stop people from making Google the default home page in their browser, assuming you can do that in the limited iPhone.
