I got the google phone this morning. The T-Mobile store that I went to in Plano, TX had 30 of them. I was number 11 in line when I got there 15 minutes after they opened. Don't think they sold out right away, but there was easily another 10 people in line behind me to get theirs.
I went with the 'bronze' instead of the black that we are seeing in the demo videos.
I gotta say. Not bad at all. It's fast. App store (excuse me), 'Android Market', is easy to use. ShopSavvy came installed already which was cool. Pretty slick application and if you use it normally, you could potentially pay for the cost of the phone.
Nice interface and I love the full keyboard. Google search on there is seamless and my sites are all displaying correctly in their browser. All of my javascript and ajax is functioning properly on all of my sites, so I'm prepared for the mobile audience from this device.
The street view compass functionality isn't as fluid as the demo would have you believe, it's spotty at best, but not a bad first go.
It's pretty solid so far and would definitely recommend the device to anyone.
Any other webmasterworld geeks pick up this bad boy?
I still have the palm and will use it for a while. I'm a big fan of the palm and it has served me well! But it's my profession and if google makes a phone then it would serve me well to see how it works, and I just happen to like it :)
