What are the best small-screen content sites?

Ones with good content & valid XHTML that degrades well?

Hi all.

I'm starting to work on a mobile-targeted site - one that would be viewed primarily on phones (Symbian Series 60 mostly but also 128x128 devices) and to a lesser extent on PDA's, Treos, etc.

Our site will not be producing much content per se, but we definitely want to link to mobile-friendly content sites... especially ones with potentially wide audiences like BBC news etc. Mobile-internet-specific sites are also of interest, like blogs and such, but less so.

To that end, can any of you recommend content sites that have small-screen-optimized versions available?

Please paste in full URLs to the mobile versions if possible as I'll check them with my Nokia first.

Thanks!

Errr, or maybe don't paste full URLs, I just found out about the no-specifics policy here and I'm too new to know whether that would violate it.

If it would please give me enough info so I can find the sites via Google.

Thx

Google "mobile portal palmone" or "shorecom".

Is this the kind of sites you were looking for?

what 'big' sites usually do is to offer a full blown site/layout for 'normal' users and to deliver content in a very, very basic template (just title, basic navigation, then content, e.g. [google.com...] ) to cell/pda users - that also increases loading time for small devices
