Computer unable to connect to WAP!

I have a computer that has to connect via WLAN. There is no way to run cable to it. Every day when I come to work, it's not on the network anymore. Not only that, but it can't see the WAP in the "view available wireless networks" A reboot of the computer doesn’t help, but a power down/up of the WAP does. Trouble is, another computer on the WLAN can see the WAP just fine.

Anyone have ANY idea what's going on here? Both the WAP and the Card are Dlink. Maybe a firmware update for both?

Does the other computer have the same card in it? Does it have the same drivers? Is it placed closer to the access point than the buggy computer?

Each has a different card. One is an internal WNIC in a laptop. An the buggy computer is directly opposite the WAP on the other side of a wall. The laptop works anywhere in the office, and the office next door.

Hmm... Desktop WNIC is towards the floor where the computer sits... maybe the WAP is blasting over it like a cell tower does? Not much service at the bottom of a cell tower.

No, and that's not really an option. Maybe moving the WAP is though... I think I'll try that. If that doesn't work, I'm totally stumped!

You may want to invest in a usb wireless adapter. They usually are pretty cheap. It could be the card you have is not working properly.

If you're using DHCP, what's assigning the IP address? Is it the WAP, or is it another device in the network?
