But when will they release a PDA? With their new focus on peripheral applications, that whole "digital hub" idea, a PDA seems like an obvious next move. The sort of person who is so digital-gadgetized as to need a "digital hub" computer will almost certainly own or want a PDA.

Unless they think it would be too hard to convince a significant number of users to migrate away from Palm OS, and they're too proud to release a piece of hardware without 100% Apple software driving it...

OTOH, someone has already written a rudimentary PDA add-on hack for the iPod... Perhaps Apple could do something there, writing a secondary piece of software for the iPod device that would allow it to "officially" act as a PDA. Then, if the next generation iPod came Bluetooth enabled, they might really have something going on.

I was thinking the exact same thing when I was looking at the iPod at the new Apple store here. Then yesterday I received the Apple's newletter, and they had added a contact manager to the iPod. Accordingly, it seems like only a matter of time until we get a 10gig iPod / Newton combo. Hopefully I am not just dreaming.

I saw a this one [mobil.se] It have never been stated if it exist or not.
It was rumoured that a PDA would be launched at Macworld, but they launched the new Imac instead. And they have taken one step in to the future with their "bluetooth" launch.
