Problmes!

Blitzz wireless card, linksys router.not working

i have adelphia cable internet. and have had a router for a long time. recently i bought a labtop so i went out and bought a wireless router and wireless card to set up a new network. i bought a LinkSyS wireless 802.11b router. and a Blitzz wireless carb designed for the 802.11b network. so i get home hook up router. plug in my two destop compuyers they work, plug the wireless card in my labtop install the drivers, it works great. about 20 minuties after, my internet said there was no connection, i look down at the wireless card it says everything is linked and the activity light is blinking.so i restart the computer and boom again it works, this time only for about 2 min then the same thing. i have reset the router downloaded newest drivers. ive tried everything i could think of. what do yous think it could be?

o yea im running windoes 98 se on my labtop.and all firewalls are turned off. and singnal is around 90% because im sitting right next to the router.

When it goes down do you lose wireless as well or just Internet.

just the wireless. the computers hooked up through ethernet still work

No I mean when you look at the wireless meter does it say not connected or do you have 90% after the Inet goes down.

no it reads 90% whens it down also

Ok that means you have an IP problem. When it goes down to an ipconfig in a command prompt. Do you have an ip and what is it?

0.0.0.0 is the ip it reads. i thitnk it something to do with win 98se. cuz i tried it in a freinds labtop inmy house running xp and it wokred fine.

XP works much better. Try running ipconfig /renew when it does that and see if you get a new ip.
