Just bought a Palm Tungsten C....questions

I just got the Tungsten C, and am a little disappointed in the wi-fi function so far. It is not finding the signal at my house or office. My other devices work off of it, so it's definitely the palm.

Apart from that, I was wondering: I have MAC at home, PCs at work. Is it possible that the info files for schedule, etc. can be remotely stored on a server, and opened on both macs and pcs. Are the info files cross platform, or is it one or the other.

Also, assuming I ever get the wi-fi working, shouldn't I be able to hotsync without putting the thing in the cradle, just through the network?

I haven't synced over a regular network, but my Dell Axim syncs wirelessly through the infrared port to my laptop. I would imagine it would work the same over the wireless network - I don't have a wi-fi card for the dell :( so I can't check.
