Mobile webmastering solution?

What is the solution for my webmastering abroad requirements?

Can anyone offer me any advice?
Here's what I want to be able to do:
I want to be able to travel from the UK to the south of france (and possibly the US), staying in a villa with no phone connection and a good distance from major towns. I will be there for a month and need to be able to
a) access the internet many times each day
b) use Frontpage and FTP
c) run a PPC bidmanagement tool (ideally 24 hours, but at least 3 hours each day)
d) use outlook
e) use internet explorer.

I am happy to spend money to be able to do this, I just don't understand what the technical solution is?

Can anyone help?

You can use a mobile phone together with a laptop, or PDA (even though the bid management tool might be a problem in the PDA)

You can use a Satelitte connection, but you will only be able to download things not upload things, since that is done via the normal telephone line.

And you can call a company and ask them if they can draw a T1 Line to the villa that might cost quite much though.

Laptop and mobile would be the easiest I suppose, though,
I'm a bit worried about losing the connection with a mobile and am i right that the fastest i could get would be 28.8kb?

Normal GSM is 9,6kb/s, GPRS Is faster, it deppends on how many timeslots that are available though, and how many your phone is supporting. The absolut maximum speed with GPRS is around 100kb/s, that will never happend for "normal" users though (not with GPRS anyway)

It also deppends on where you are, if you are out in nowhere they might not have GPRS support, which means that you will have to stick to GSM (All GPRS phones support GSM transfer)

And if you go to the US i think you will have to use a different phone if you want quicker than 9,6kb/s

I hadn't heard of GPRS, but I've just checked with my mobile phone provider and they do it and it covers France, I need to upgrade to a Nokia 6310e mobile, buy a new laptop (old thinkpad has seen it's best day) and run some software.

Any advice on the best laptop to buy to connect with the 6310i?

Now all I need is to work on a solution for the US..... GSM at 9600 would just be too slow...

Any ideas?
