how many keywords would be considered OK to put in the anchor for incoming links? I am currently doing 1 keyphrase per link that people for. My question is, can i put more that one keyphrase or keyword. For example, if i put "spiderman, spiderman toys, Kids toys, batman" would i rank high for each of those terms, or would it be better to just put one term per link?

Hi Knoir,
This topic was discussed here in Link Development. [webmasterworld.com] This should help answer the question.

It seems to me that anchor text with fewer keywords are doing better with this recent update/correction/adjustment/modification cycle that Google is in.

As a general rule of thumb, if you think something is spammy, then .. think about it again.

Good point.

It's always a good idea to write anchor text that reads properly, instead of designing it around what the search engines will get from it.

Ask yourself, "what would make someone click this link?" and does the end user understand where this link will go before even clicking it?

Perhaps instead of:

spiderman, spiderman toys, Kids toys, batman

It could read:

Click for Spiderman kids toys!

Or:

Huge Selection of Spiderman toys for kids

Or something..
