PR between pages

PR in deeper pages

My index.html page is now PR7. But why do all other pages have PR between 1-4? Even some deeper pages are only ranked 1? Do those deeper pages need to have more inbound links in order to jack up their PRs?

That's one way to increase their PR, assuming that those pages would be valuable links for another site to include. You also can deep link to those pages from your own high PR pages. Doing that will pass those page your own "vote" for their importance.

There is an old rule than no page on a website should be more than three clicks away from any other page -- by some click path or other. Site maps can help you achieve this level of intraconnection or cross-linking within your own site. But if you make sure you have such short click paths, then your PR will be voted around your own site in a less clumpy fashion.
