I am managing a web site for the first time, and it is kind of different than most. I don't have complete control of the site as it is owned by a larger company that sells domains within their site. If that makes sense. They actually control the meta tags, etc., but I control most of the content. It is an informational web site for my community, and I am trying to figure out the best way to get our site higher on the search engines. I do have us listed on most of them, but we are way down unless you type in more than one keyword. I am provided with a link to look at my logs, but other than hits and visits I don't know what I am looking at. For example, one of the tables is for "Top 20 of 34 Total Search Strings". Is this what people are actually searching for that is finding our site?
