Problems with HTML email creation in Outlook 2000

I'm having problems with creating HTML emails with background images in Outlook.

Found this tutorial on the site:

When I load the HTML file in as a signature - the signature "preview box" shows the HTML as I would wish it - background image in place and all.

When I create a new email, using the HTML signature, all the foreground text comes out, but the background image is missing. Sending the email to myself confirms that the background is not present upon opening either.

The image is linked to by an absolute URL to my server space, which has no image blocking etc (as confirmed by the signature preview box working)

Any ideas?
