A floating java box that bounces around the screen

I've added a hovering image to our company's website which hovers in the bottom left corner (using a Jave script from Dynamicdrive.com). However, the boss likes it so much she wants it to bounce around the screen rather than stay still. Does anyone know of a script archive that has something like this? I'm assuming it would be easier to take a new script from an archive rather than adjusting the one I already have - I know even less about Java than I do about the workings of my bosses mind.

I'm afraid I have no idea how to do that and god knows why anyone would want to! ;) What a ghastly, horrible idea.

Maybe you could just point out to her how dreadfully amateurish she'll make your pages look with that kind of useless gimmick?

To be fair, we're based in Beijing, and the Chinese are much more tolerant of animations / flash and so on - they're more used to crowded, noisy environments, I think. Compare a Chinese web portal (sina.com.cn is as good an example as any) with Yahoo and you'll see what I mean.

If you put your image in a layer, there are scripts out there for moving layers around screens (by manipulating the x and y value) - you could modify one of these.

Like Nick, I can see little value in this! You're going to be adding a lot of JavaScript to do something like this....

Hmmmm, did a search for 'moving layers' in Google, and got some hopeful looking stuff. I haven't actually tested it yet so I won't post any links - it might not work.

I can attest that Chinese and Japenese web sites are always extremely crowded and busy on screen.

Entirely different mindset; the far-East is responsible for almost all of those on-screen distractions like Neko and other screen friends.

Thanks for the little piece of informtion about sina.com.cn as I had no idea what that site was. I note that for a site I helped run for a one-day event at the beginning of May, that that Chinese web site provided about 20% of the day's visitors, while Google (despite a #1 listing) provided about 1%.
