One page penalized from my site

I have a website that ranks pretty well and I noticed one of my pages got removed from Google SERPS. I did a quick search and noticed that sometimes its possible to have a few pages removed off Google.

I lost a bit of traffic.

I wanted to ask if its possible to have a page or two penalized rather than having the whole site penalized. I found my answer and just wanted to share.

I caution correlating your issues with the issues someone else has without direct access to the source.

A Manual Review is the only way you can have a page removed (de-indexed) abd you would be shown that in your GSC. Neither PANDA or PENGUIN removes pages from the index.

Even a DMCA claim, while the page can be temporarily removed you are notified in advance.

I didn't read the source you provided simply because the claims there cannot be independently verified to be a 100% paraelling case to yours.

I once lost 90% of sales to a renewal of an SSL that was improperly installed by the host. The host didn't report any problems and it took two months to backtrack that problem since I never attempted to buy from myself. One day a repeat customer advised us of huge IN YOUR FACE MESSAGE STATING THIS DOMAIN CAN'T BE TRUSTED!

Be sure to triple check everything from your end.

What actually caused the pages removal?

Unnatural links you created would be extremely obvious. But that wouldn't normally get a page banned from Google, devalued and ranked lower. Sure thing!

How can i verify that?

Is the page still indexed?

Yes it is but when you google the content it shows up not the Title.

I just logged in Google Webmasters and did a Fetch and Render. Not sure exactly what it does. But then I clicked on Submit to Index.

I noticed that many of my pages is showing in the index as:
example.com/page1/_notes
example.com/page1/

I did a 301 redirect of _notes to index.php

Im thinking that may have been the issue maybe?
