refreshing pages

which tag should I use

I am working on a site which needs changes made every so often to prices etc.
I am just wondering how I should get the pages to refresh after the changes have been made.

Should I use either of these tags:
<meta http-equiv="refresh" ...
<meta http-equiv="expires" ...

or something else?

I'm guessing that you mean for the new content to be displayed to the user when they revisit your page (as opposed to the content changing during their visit).

In that case, the expires is that way to go, although a server setting is the most effective way of achieving this - although on hosted boxes this is not an option a lot of the time.

Thanks for your reply.

That's right, it is so that new content will be displayed, so the user is not just seeing the outdated page because it has been cached.

Is there a better way to do this using ASP, perhaps?
