How to Build A Successful Website in 1 Year

Hello.

I'm completely new to webmaster as well as the idea of building a website; but a dear friend of mine has had terrific success with what started out small - about 5 years ago.

She mentioned to me that there is an article somewhere on this site called: How to build a successful website in one year. And frequently it is reposted.

It is my hope that someone knows where this article might be and could repost it for me (and others). Apparently it has about 22 steps which if followed will help someone create a successful site. My friend did all 22 steps very exactly and for her, it worked.

Keyword domains are out - branding and name recognition are in

Submit the root to: Google, Fast, Altavista, WiseNut, (write Teoma), DirectHit, and Hotbot

Head back to the Overture suggestion tool to get ideas for fresh pages.

Simple formula: Create high quality content and promote the *%#^ out of it.

Say what!? ;-) Did you sleep through Web 2.0? [flickr.com...]

Hmmm: Quora, Twitter, Flickr, FaceBook, LinkedIn, Skype..

Are all examples of branding over generic domain names. Branding and name recognition are in bigger than ever. It was the entire point of web 2.0 domain names.
