Amy, the keywords meta is no longer used by the search engines so it can effectively be ignored.

Hi amythepoet:) Yes, exactly as he stated.
Instead use the Meta description tag. That will help you provide a good description to people when they actually see your website link in serps as it is used to entice more clicks from viewers/buyers.
And you can *Add* kws(keywords) in there for your webpage. Don't overuse your kws in there though.
Bye the way, if your still curious about how many kws to add in the Meta kws tag, you can try looking at your competitors page and get any idea of how they are using their kws for their page. View the source of the page.
Hope this help you amythepoet:)
Have a Good day:)

I still populate the neta keywords tag, I know that google ignores it but it only takes a moment to populate and who knows what might happen in the future.
Are you still using alt descriptions on images? I am, and the newer title tag. Belt and braces, use em all I say!

many search engines still recommend keywords tag, so you can use a max of 250 characters keyword in your keyword meta tag.
