Menu question

Hi! This is kind of a complicated question to ask. I'm trying to implement an A-Z menu at the top of one of my pages. I have noticed on other pages I've visited that you can click on a letter and then you will automatically be taken to the area on that page where that letter is. I've noticed that at the end of the URL you need either: #A. or %20A. I've tried both and I can't get it to work? My urls end in .html Do I need some special script on my page or am I doing something wrong? Thanks for your help!

This does where you want the link to advance to - it "a name" aligns to top of viewing screen.

This goes where you want the link (or where the visitor clicks from)

<a href="#what ever the anchor is call">the link text</a>

also could be an image

What I think you're looking for are HTML anchors.

[w3.org...] is a great page for helping you understand what you need to do and the theory behind it!
