This is a blog question.

Well, 2 blog questions.

Does anyone know of any good video tutorials that show step-by-step installation of word press as well as how to change the template and all that good stuff?

Second, is there any way to make blogger look how you want it to look and not like their boring templates? I'm pretty sure there is, but I looked at the code and I'm not sure where to put a new design or how to add the css part.

When I used a css template for my websites, I just plopped the css file right in there and it was all good. In blogger, I don't get where it goes.

You guys rock.

P.S. Sorry, but I think I'm about to be a pest in here. I've been looking for this gathering of techies for a long time. It looks like you don't mind humoring those of us who are less fortunate in our technical abilities. It really does mean a lot. Very cool. I've seen some meanie forums.

Don't be sorry. Questions drive forums. No questions, no forums. When you learn more, just pay it back by answering other beginner questions.

Anyway, tubetorial has some good wordpress installation videos. Also, search on
Matt Cutts wordpress seo
There's a video of Matt on setting up Wordpress (Matt Cutts is a big honcho at Google).

As for modifying templates, I don't know of any videos, but the easy way to get started is to save the generated page, and then edit that. When you get it as you want, figure out what you had to change and where those pieces are in your wordpress template. First try just changing the styles file for your theme and then if you can't get there, mess with the layout. Also, you might want to invest some time looking around for Wordpress themes - try to find one as close as possible to what you want. You may only need to make a few changes if you find one that really fits your needs.

Sheree, some of the themes are easier to modify than others. Also, many hosts have automatic installation so all it takes is one click to install and set up. Which is fine, as long as it's WP 2.3 and not an earlier one.

Right, I've seen some of the auto install options with certain hosts, but I don't think either of my hosts have this. It's silly actually because I'm experimenting with one low priced host and one over priced host and I don't think either one has this feature.
