Easiest Way to Create a Map with Numbered Icons

I'm new to Google Maps API, but haven't seen numbered icons.

if you mean each icon image itself has a number on/in it, that means you have to create the image and shadow image for each icon/number.

if you want a number to pop up with every rollover or click action, that is very easy - simply put a listener on that action for that icon to pop up a text string containing the number.

Thanks Frank...(I like the name)

The Google API lets you easily choose a different color for each icon...and whether or not it has a dot in the center of it.

You would think that you could choose one with a number in the center instead

But I can't figure it out without disecting the whole thing in photoshop and turning it in to a 4 hour project
