Except for eYe Project, which to my understanding doesn't use Apache.

After I install the program(s) it runs fine but nothing will load either by using hxxp://localhost or hxxp://127.0.0.1

All program ran fine under my Win2k installation but they just won't work in XP.

Programs I've tried:

ApachePHPMySQL 1.11
phpDev4 4.23
phpDev5 Beta 3
Reactor Server 1.4
UniServer 3.3
Server2Go
WAMP5 1.6.4a
Web-Developer Server Suite 1.95
PortableWebAp
XAMPP 1.6.1
+a few more I can't remember the names of.

I've also tried installing Apache, PHP and MySQL manually and still no go.

Any ideas?

Perhaps you've not disabled the windows firewall, or you're running a server which is blocking the ports? I would suggest a reinstall of windows XP as your first move.

If you have IIS installed it grabs all the ports on 127.0.0.1

I'm using XAMPP on XP Pro. But I changed apache to 127.0.0.2

Also check your firewall is not blocking access.

I ran into something similar installing a win version of apache/php a while back. It turned out that one of the Skype services was listening on port 80 and effectively blocking apache from doing so.

When this happened, I would get an error each time I tried to launch Apache after installation. Are you getting some kind of error?

No errors, everything loads just fine but I don't get any response from any browser when trying to access localhost or 127.0.0.1. When I try nslookup it tells me it can't connect, I got a response on my Win2k machine so I have no clue why it's not working on this one.

@jatar_k

Thanks for the links but I've tried all of that, I followed a tutorial found at [wamp.corephp.co.uk...] and I still can't get it to run.
