Hi, major newbie here. I'm kind of like Fix as far as "how to". First off, I'm not interrested in adsense monetization at all. I'd like to build some sites that are, for lack of a better term, an "umbrella" of products and/or services that my visitors could choose from and then link to. Paid subscriptions to the sites is a possibility and "click thru" monitization is another. A supper blogger, won't mention any names, but his initials are Frank Shilling, :), said that this was the place to come. If I'm in the wrong area to post this, please let me know.

Thanks in advance,

Bill

That is not really a question. You need to be more specific.

Thanks Ogletree, way to much info for such a basic issue.

How do I go about monitoring, billing, "click thru" traffic that goes through my site.

At first I thought you meant monitoring the traffic so you knew the site at the other end of the click was paying you the proper commission. But then you mentioned billing. Who exactly would you be billing, and for what?

Personally I would just stick with trusted advertising or affiliate services and concentrate on content.

Thanks for your response everyone. I guess I'm trying to understand how to generate revenue from a site that has links to businesses that I steer the traffic to. "Billing" may be archaic in this realm where more efficient tecnology takes care of revenue.

Specifically, and I'm not trying to promote it but get the mechanics down so I can go with it. I have "Buyagra.com". I would like to build a site that contained info, options and products available for a specific group of people. I would like to have links to many different products and have a resulting cash flow from traffic to these businesses.

Hope that's clearer. Thanks everyone.

An .asp click-through tracking log should work.
