incorporating a database

I have a php media type script that came with a database that takes in rss feeds, I'm trying to use this database with mysql but don't know how to configure mysql to incorporate it, the database is just over 9 megabites in size, and is in a folder that I uploaded with the script, How can I use this database, I'm new to all this as you may have guessed. Thanks.
