Static versus Dynamic pages

Do static html pages receive better organic search ratings than pages created dynamically?

I generate all of my pages dynamically using php from my store items in a mySql database. My competitors have static html pages and appear to be ranked higher in the search listings for the same products.

I started making static pages with links to the products in the database just to see if this helps my organic search rankings.

What has others experience been related to static versus dynamic web pages?

The crawler or search engine don't know whether your content is static or dynamic. Don't worry about how the content is created - look at the content. That is what the search engines look at.

Keep in mind that the URL is part of the "content". In some cases, "user-friendly", descriptive URLs can make a difference.
