I am looking for a webhost for my website. Some of the Hosts that I have shortlisted also hosts some adult sites. My website is a general information website containing information about my company.

1. Does it affect my ranking if I host my website on this host as some adult sites are hosted on this server

2. If I get a dedicated IP for my site, will that help me in that

3. How does the other websites hosted on the same shared server affect my website in terms of SEO, if any.

Probably nobody knows the answers for sure except the search engines themselves (and they're not talking), but I don't think 1, 2, or 3 will affect your rankings. I had a bunch of high-ranking domains on a shared hosting plan, and then I moved them to a dedicated server, and the rankings didn't change. Incidentally, my host allows adult sites, but I don't know if there were any adult sites on the shared server when I was on the shared plan.

By the way, the more descriptive you make your thread title, the more responses you'll get, because if people aren't sure what the topic is about then they might not open the thread to find out. Good titles have at least six words and a verb. Even better titles use both lines, since WebmasterWorld gives you two lines for the thread title.
