How do you get traffic?

I need traffic for the website having Adsense Ads

Anyone would like to share his thoughts on getting the traffic from different reliable sources.

Please share any good sources/methods, which can be helpful for everyone.

Read around; the forums exist to answer exactly that kind of question - but it's hard to summarise thousands of threads into one post.

Provide useful, quality content which people want to read, will bookmark and tell their friends about. Become an authority on your subject and get good backlinks from respected sites.

Be prepared to work hard on your site, and don't expect to become a millionaire overnight :)

Or take the easy route and just buy traffic.

If you buy traffic through AdWords and don't have quality landing pages, then expect to pay a lot of money for this method. Also expect that other 1st tier programs will adopt similar policies in the future. If you go with 2nd or 3rd tier PPC programs, don't expect the wuality of the traffic to be very good.

So your best bet is to follow what has already been suggested- build a site that people want to come/link to. The links and traffic will follow.

You could also use a free banner exchange program to get free advertising. They can be helpful when you are just starting out.
