Hi fellas:)

Been awhile since i posted. Anyways, i was wondering, i just started a blog. Well, can a blog have a Main Page with it's own content and no other content following it? Like a regular website with it's single main index page.

or do blogs work differently? Meaning that after you write a page of new content, it is immediately placed on the Top of the old blog post when updated?

->I ask because i just wanted to have it set up like a regular website with it's main index page information (The Same Introduction text) *Always Shown* at the Top of the index page. The rest of the texts would then be separate unique pages linked to.
Is that Possible?

Q1. Can i have a main index Only with the
*Same content* (Never changing on main index.) at the Top of the page always shown? (Without other info following it.)
*Like a regular website with an index page.

Q2.Or are blogs just One (1) long page on the Main index of the site that updates when ever you post to it?

Thanks guys for your help:) Hope to hear from you soon.

Depends on the blog.

Are you running blog software on your own server? Using a hosted blog? Which blog software?

Generally a blog will update when you post a new entry, although most blogging software allows you to choose if a post is placed on the homepage or not. So you can restrict what content makes the homepage and what doesn't.

Another way of doing this is to install your blog in a sub directory and have a normal web page as your sites homepage. The homepage can then link to the blog as well as showing your regular non-blog content. You your main site would be www.example.com and your blog is on www.example.com/blog/ (or something similar)

Hope this gives you some ideas.

Mack.
