What's the Best eCommerce Package

Hi fellow eCommerce junkies,

I'm looking, with an eye toward the future, for an ecommerce package that has it all -- easy to use, cross selling, top 10 best seller lists, specials, coupons, customer product reviews, customer order history, realtime shipping calculation, search that actually works (doesnt return irrelevent results) all that jazz! maybe even a mailing list campaigner built in would be nice.

I've been looking at a package called StoreFront ($1000 or $120 a month -- eek) but if anyone has any other suggestions please feel free to share them.

Like I've said in previous posts, I'm computer savvy so I'll take features over easiness if it comes down to it.

Thanks and good luck to all the stores out there.

ecommerce tempaltes
You need golive, dreamweaver or frontpage but once you have the template it's very easy to install set up and maintain.
Support is fantastic.

I agree. I have only used ecommerce templates once but support was great!

That's not going to happen. What you are asking for is a custom build web application. No ecommerce package can do what you are asking.

Ecommerce package is off the flies, get it done&diry. What you want is something that's done the right way.

The only way to get what you are looking for is either build it yourself, or get a programmer to build it for 50k+

first off how much does "ecommerce template" cost and who makes it

so are you suggesting osCommerce for the DIY approach? if you're savvy enough ton build your own page, couldn't you just lter the code in eccmmerce template to add the feautures you need?

my guess is that both oscommerce amd ecomemerce templae are PhP/SQL installs.

An Ecommerce Generic Template cost about $115 one off payment with 6 months support and free upgrades. Their site has a wealth of info and once you installed the template you can use as much or as lttle of it as you want. My site literally lifted the php scripting for each page that accessed the SQL Databases, the rest of the page is all my own design work eg. buttons, css etc.

Once your basic pages are set up it's simply a case of chnging anything you don't like.

Have a look at the forums and you can see that not only are all queries resolved but usually you get an answer to a query within the hour.

I simply have no experience of working with databases so Ecommerce was the obvious choice.

I have used several open source e commerce packages and have found that ZenCart allows you to do all the things your asking about. I am a relative novice at coding etc and was able to create a large site with this software relatively quickly for almost no money (hired a developer to clean up the site).
