Using Youtube on your site

I'm an English teacher and I started adding Youtube videos as lesson plans to my site. I have some concerns such as people removing their video, and Youtube's endless downtime because they're fixing their server or other.
Is there a way to work around these two issues? Have you encountered any other problems working with video? Any opinion or advice would be gratefully received.

Although it is possible to download YouTube videos (do some searches for various solutions...) it wouldn't be legal, as YouTube's user agreement doesn't permit this.

As a teacher, you probably wouldn't want to do something that may not be legal...

There is a great website out there that pays people to upload their videos. It is growing fast. People who upload their videos on this site rarely delete them.

Just to clarify

it is possible to download YouTube videos (do some searches for various solutions...) it wouldn't be legal, as YouTube's user agreement doesn't permit this.

It wouldn't be illegal it would just be against the TOS agreement, no laws will have been broken as a result of downloading any of the YouTube videos.
