hi, I have a one year old site which was started with html and later on added a sort of dynamic page using wordpress. Actually a subdirectory.

When I search for: site:www.mysite.com it gives me 700 results and when I search for: site:mysite.com it gives me 1500 results.

Now, does those www and non-www can hurt my site? the html and wordpress are inter-linking with each other...

What are the best things to do to optimized it better in terms of SEO?

Thanks a lot.

By the way here is my Header:

Using Google for the link command can be very unreliable. In recent times Google has started hidding a lot of "Link" search results. I guess this is an attempt to make the link command a lot less usefull as an "seo tool"

You could try using Yahoo and MSN to compare your link counts.

As for www and non www, the importaint thing to do here is make sure all your internal links follow one specific pattern. www or non www. Use one and stick to it. I recoment using the www version because it is more common for external sites to use the full domain name when linking to you.

Hi Mack,

Thanks for the info. However, I got same ratio even in Yahoo and MSN as follows:

==msn==
site:www.mysite.com = 1,335
site:mysite.com = 4,372

==yahoo==
site:www.mysite.com = 809
site:mysite.com = 1,112

Without "www" has more indexed page than with "www". Is there a shortcut way in WordPress to change everything to use "www"?

I believed it is my wordpress pages that are using the without "www"
