Website checking off-site before going live

I am updating a website for a friend, they would like to be able to check any changes i make before it goes live to their website. I am using Dreamweaver and WS FTP Pro to update. We are in different locations so they cannot come to me to check. How do I set up a test site that only they can view?

I hope it's an easy process.

What you could do is set up a "private" folder on their domain www.example.com/test and upload your files there. You can then call the client and point them in the right direction and allow then to preview the site.
