Are you saying that your web site's contact form is being used to send you spam?

Thank you.

Making your email address available on a website is asking for spam. A form would be a lot better. Use a scripting language such as php, perl or asp to send the form contents to your email address without actually letting the users know about the destination email. This will help protect you from email harvesters.

I agree with Mack, make a form with a hidden e-mail address. They can just send an e-mail to you and you can only reply if you want to. Spam bots(on term for them) will send you spam if the sence an e-mail address on the page. They can't fill out a form. At least I don't think they can.

Please private message me if you know any thing about e-mail harvester or spam bots using forms.

I recently got hit by a spam bot sending heaps of spam. The really stupid thing was it was only sending to me, no-one else, yet was sending dozens and dozens of mails, with various urls in them.

Dunno if the idiot thought the urls would be posted somewhere? The only place they ever appeared was on my Yahoo mail screen.

Had to re-name the form script to put an end to it - removing the html code for the form itself didn't stop it.

i made all email addresses visable on my site into an image of the text without any mailto link attached to it. it keeps the spammers from mining the address automatically. It helped a lot
