Hi all

Found you via google and i read a couple of topics, you guys really know your stuff.

I am trying to do the following (but im a complete novice)

Trying to set up a webserver using my own hardware, behind a firewalled router with NAT & DMZ, also on a small home wired network.

I have gotten as fat as installing apache and getting the "hello world" exampple to work, that is great.

As far as i am aware i have enabled IIS.

I was working from a tutroial and apparently i need pearl, but for some reason it wont install at all no matter which download i pick (MSI or zipped)

All i want to be able to do is have collegues be able to enter my home IP (or click a picture link) and be presented with a login screen, after login goto a page listing the files within a designated folder of my choice. From there be able to upload / download based on permissions assosiated by login account.

So ... where do i start? Do i need apache or can i use XP's IIS? do i need to learn php or mysql?

Software downloaded that can be re-installed:

php
phpBB
MySQL
Pearl (didnt want to install for some reason)
Apache - installed & "heelo world" example woking.

Hardware main spec is athlon 2400xp

80gb hdd c:
10gb hdd d:
120gb hdd e:

running windows XP pro SP2.

Any other info required, just ask.

Thank you all for your help in advance. :)
