Ok, I've finally received control of this domain, and changed the technical contact info at the original registrar. However, this isn't changed in the WHOIS. Does it just take time or do I have to manually do it. I think that this is what my hosting company needs for permissions.

Thanks for any help.

My understanding is that it can take a few business days.

A couple years ago I took control of a variant of my domain brought it over to a different registrar, and what I recall is that it took a couple days.

Congratulations! And how did you do it?

Well done.
Allow 3 days for it to show up

Ok thanks. A couple of business days, I can live with that- I hope it's not much more. I had to find the one email address that worked over there by asking the original registrar, I guess they gave them the real one since they do business...Then I got the registrar to send emails to them on top of my excessive requests. I guess I complained enough and they wanted to get rid of me. I had to learn the hard way.
