Hi all,

I'm designing a newsletter for our University ICT Directorate where I work. My problem is that the table containing the title of the newsletter is a bit wide. I've tried every tweek possible but it still remain the same. Can someone tell which dimension to use? If there are any additional changes, please let me know. Please help because I want this finished and ready to get on our website by tomorrow.

thanx

What resolution are you designing for?

Your table width attributes are set for 1604, that is why it is wide.
If you want it to fit inside an 800 resolution, change the first two large width attributes from 1604 and 1598 to width=765, remove any other width attribute that is over 765 and it should fit ok.
If you want it to fit inside a 1024 or any other screen resolution, adjust accordingly.

Incidentally, you have some tags missing. You probably lost them while you were tinkering.

Thanx a million. So if you're designing for an 800 resolution what is the normal width that you should use?

I normally go to 770, but like I said in the post, go for width=765 to play it safe. If you center it, it will look ok with wider screen resolutions.
If you want it to spread across any screen resolution, just use width=100%. Although that can look a bit naff when there's not a lot of content.
