What is word cramming

Hello, yet again, I would like some advice in respect of Meta Descriptions and Keywords. I would like to know whether or not a description would be classified as cramming or possibly engage penalties when spidered? The comparison between descriptions are as follows:

where you can buy or sell new, used, second hand, rare, signed, first edition, out of print and antique books.

If it was changed to this:

where you can buy or sell new books, used books, second hand books, rare books, signed books, first edition books, out of print books and antique books.

Would this be seen as cramming (the term 'books').

The reason I ask is that the spiders do not seem to pick up on the Meta keyword 'Sell used books' from the first description.

Any advice appreciated.

Keywords.....forget for 99%+ of the time.

Other MetaTags have a tad of value, but not much!

The only real value today is in Link Anchor Text, and one way from multilple IP's.

Percentages, thanks for that. You know my next question: is there any articles explaining Link anchor text? Regards John.

Hey John,

>You know my next question: is there any articles explaining Link anchor text?

Dozens on this site alone!

You need links! You can try to get them yourself or you can manipulate them via other domains you own.

Either way......you must have links! And they should be of the most desirable form if you're making them!

Search Engine profitability is worth $millions per month in some sectors.......Read this post 100 times and make $millions per month, it has all you need!

I'm now retired, so good luck to you younger folks.! I have already gained what I desired from this industry......the next generation should be more capable and need no assistance!

It has always been advised to use your keywords ONCE in the <title>, ONCE in the <description>, ONCE in your <keywords> and a 'smattering' throughout your body text. The SE's do use these tags for ranking purposes but only as a small part of a big puzzle.

Personally I think you are overusing the word in your description where you could say aomething along the lines of

"where you can buy or sell new, used, second hand, rare, signed, first edition, out of print and antique books."

Overuse of a keyword will incur a penalty somewhere along the line.

Best of luck
