I would like to set up a product review website where either I write up an article or the website visitor can write a product review. Various other extras as well. I was just wondering whether anyone has come across any off the shelf packages at all?
Thanks in advance
Stephen
My first choice would be Wordpress because its so easy your cat could have a website.
Second choice would be Joomla because if you changed your mind and wanted a complete web portal with thousands of possible add-ons for extended functionality you could do it no sweat.
With Joomla you would need to install at least one add-on in order for visitors to comment on articles though, wordpress does that "out of the box".
Both are free, open source products.
Is it because Joomla is a more comprehensive website CMS product? Can someone help me understand why Joomla (or Mambo and other competing CMS's) is a better choice in some situations?
New to this great site!
Thanks
For example it is very easy to plug in a full-featured forum component to Joomla, and there are around 5 different forums to choose from.(it may be possible to do this with Wordpress too, I just never got that far) also when setting up Joomla sites I just felt I had more control than with Wordpress.
The first thing I did before committing to a CMS was shop around and see how many third party products there were available to extend it, and I was very impressed with the quantity and quality of free, open source offerings for Joomla.
