Do users accept cookies

Does the "average" internet user still have a browser which accepts the type of cookies used in some affiliate programs? Does spyware mess-up or destroy a "cookie-based plan", intent on promising accurate affiliate tracking?

Most users still accept cookies, although most don't even know what a cookie is. :)
