Good or bad?

I have just been looking at a competitors page and noticed a wee page ranking tool provided by google. New to me. However, interesting to see that my homepage ranks as a 3 in the great scheme of Google relevancy! My question is as follows: "Is it wise to incorporate the ranker in your web page especially if you are a newbie site (gives the game away that your poorly ranked does it not?)". I would appreciate the consensus of opinion.

I would tend not to use it. There are a few tools that make it fairly easy to plug PR into your site but they are against Google TOS. Perhaps a risk, to great in my opinion.

Mack thanks for that. Tend to agree. Notice how this place only ranks 7 *L*

The only sites I have seen using this type of PR indicator on pages are those sites which have some reason to shout about what a good PR they have.

The Google PR that's visible to the public is not necessarily a true indicator of PR for that page. In any event it only gets updated about every 3 months.

Only Google knows the true PR it has assigned to a page and that may not be what the Google PR toolbar indicates.

Webmasters have become obsessed by PR to the point they often won't link to sites that don't have at least a PR 4 or more. I have a few websites and the one that gets the most link requests by a factor of 50:1 is the one with the high PR.
