Site doesn't show up in any search engines.

I have submitted it several times over the last 6-8 months and it isn't being picked up. So frustrating! My SIL is complaining because she had this domain name before and she claims that it showed up fine and is convinced it is because of the website I created. The site I created validates with the W3C for XHTML and CSS and is much more full of info than her old site that she created with her old webhost online tool, but it still doesn't show up.

Is this because the domain name was dropped and picked up again? Is there something I am missing about the submission part? I have links to this site from other sites as well. I have also submitted the site to some directories that specialize in this subject. Still nothing.

What can I tell my SIL that is wrong that she will understand and accept? (Even when I don't really know what is wrong...lol)

well, just wanted to add...it does show up in "All the Web" and in MSN search engines. Just none of the others.:)

Forget the submitting thing. That is almost useless. You have links to your site and search engine robots should be able to crawl them.

Have any of your pages been indexed? You can check by using the site:www.domain.com command.
