I have decided that I need to consoldate the links on my site and would like to put a drop down menu in my main navigation bar across the top of each page.

What is the best way to do this?

Find a suitable script (free or otherwise) that does this for you. No point in reinventing the wheel.

I have checked out several menu generators and maybe my problem is how I wish to use the menu?

My site does use a CSS and I like the styles I am using.

I have a very pretty navagation bar below my header.

I would like to make each of the Six Links into a Drop Down menu so that I will not have to place section navigation links in my left side panel.

I would very much like the visitor to see the menu drop down when they hover over the six different links (I will be changing the names of the links I have right now). This way I can keep the majority of my primary pages accessable from the navigation bar and drop down menues.

All of the drop down menus I have found so far make an acutal box or need more room to display then will fit in my navigation bar.

I have tried playing with things to see if I can get it to fit but have not been able to do this without going crazy trying to figure it all out.

It seems like there should be some simple way to di thin since I see so many web sites with such a navigation menu and I am just clueless right now.

I have been working on this for 3 days and tried about 10 or more different generators including one offered by my host which seems to TAG each page with the url specifically so I wont be able to just dump it on each page without manually chaning the code for every page! YUCK--so much for a free hose tool!

Anyway, I must be making this too hard.

I don't mind setting it all up and saving the code in a notpad file and then pasting it on each page. But I still have not found something that will just drop down off the navigation bar on each of the six links I have with a neat little menu?

Any help or point to the right direction would make HappyMomAnna happy again! Maybe I don't need to get as complicated as I am doing if I could find a way to put this in my main CSS file?

Thank you, for any CLUE!

Anna,

I've used UDM4 (ultimate drop down menu) for my navigation. I can't remember their URL but do a search on google and you'll find it. It's also free.

I've sticky mailed you with a link to a good script that I use.

Edit: UDM is only free for non-commercial use.
