Creating a mobile site?

Hy,in the near future i am want to create a mobile site where users can browse through ringtone,wallpaper,games and etc and if they liked from their mobile send a sms with a code and receive their request(ringtone,wallpaper or etc).And also i would like to charge this service.
So is there very difficult to create such a site and what i need to do in order to create it,please help.

Hi Capezio,
Setting up a project like this is not going to be at all easy. First thing you need is products. Screen savers, ring tones etc will be your products. You need to source items that you can re-sell. You will probably need to aquire liscences on such products. If you plan to sell them on your own you will need to source a way of letting SMS messages interat with your site.

A simpler way of doing this is to become an affilite for one of the existing providers. Some providers will allow you to set up your own premium SMS number for your order codes to be sent, you can then provide your own number and tey provide product codes. You can them develop your own site and provide your users with the correct code per product.

If I where you I would start very small. Create a mobile site offering info and reviews with affiliate links then if/when traffic gets high enough you can branch of into the market you mentioned. I do not have any involvment in the mobile market, but it will be a very competative space to try and get a foot in the door.

My guess would actually be that it may be harder to succeed as an affiliate in today's competitive market than as a provider of original content --the latter could work with existing affiliates, whereas the former would compete against them...

To an extent I agree. But the outlay involved in gettign started off as a provider of unique products is a scarry thought. The competition you are up against in th emobile sector is huge.

Workign with a provider means less outlay, and perhaps larger margins?

You dont make as much, but you dont spend anywhere near as much.
