I am a newbie and I don't know!

Hi Guys,

As I stated, I am new to web building, but I'm doing ok! As far as HTML and CSS are concerned at least.

So I know how to build a not too sad website and I know how to upload it (well I think I do anyway). What I don't know is; How do I get to send/receive email from my own domain name? ie: enquiries@mydomain.com

I can sense the rolling eyes already.

Thanks in advance.

Peter.

Didn't your server host set up a default e-mail address for your domain name when you contracted for hosting? The host should have provided all that set-up info when you first set up your account, I think.

hi Peco

Welcome to WebmasterWorld :o)

As stapel said the process will depend on your hosting company.

you will usually find controls for your mail in the control panel that the host has provided.

from there you can add new mailnames and either forward the mail to another address or setup a mailbox (if available).

No the site isn't live yet, infact I haven't even chose a host.

Is this a process a host will guide me through?

Is this a process a host will guide me through?

most hosts have very easy to follow instructions, others will help you personally.

Good luck with your site!

you can set up an alias and have it go wherever you want

it's very simple, you sound like you have half an idea of what to do anyway so you will soon sort it out!

Ahh! I like the term "very simple"

Thanks for your help.

Great forum btw, I have been looking through some threads and they are very informative.
Looks like I'll be doing a lot of reading.
