I submitted my home page several months ago to all the major search engines. I after about a month, I started getting 10 - 30 hits per day on Yahoo. Then traffic showed up on MSN. So, I submitted several other pages and all traffic stopped. After researching, it appears that I had a spam violation on one of the recently submitted pages. I have corrected the problem & resubmitted. How long will my site be penalized once the problem has been corrected.

It's difficult to know for sure if your site was in fact penalised, to be honest it's impossible. By mentioning you belive it was penalised I assume you did something spammy :)

If so then the best thing you can do it clean up the site and hope for forgivness.

Simply submiting your site to search engines will not however give you traffic. You need to get links from other sites. For this reason don't even bother suggesting your url to the search engine.

Work on gettign links. Go for directories, links from related sites, and topic specific niche directories. The search engine spiders will then find your page via your links and will include you within their index.
